Glass that has become a utensil, glass as an objet d'art: both at the same time, often in a lovely synthesis achieved by those who want their household objects to be beautiful ... The catalogue celebrates the ancient art of the glass-worker which underwent a remarkable renewal in the 20th century. Moreover the contemporary glass sculptures produced by the Fucina degli Angeli glassworks and by Cristalleries Daum based on exceptional models or designs by Picasso, Max Ernst, Lurçat, Arp and Dalì are masterpieces. We must also mention the glass produced by Japanese and American artists, and European glass-makers - from Czechoslovakia, Sweden, Finland, Italy.
